Joe Perzel # 8

Position: Pitcher

Bats/Throws: L/R

Nicknames: Joe-Joe, 8-Ball, Shithead

Married: Yes, though there is no proof his wife exists

If Joe were a cartoon character, who would he be? Answer below.

Baseball Career:  I started working on that flawless motion of mine in 3rd grade - up at Waite Park in North East Minneapolis.  After accelerating through the various levels, I prepared myself for high school and all the babes a star player is supposed to attract.  Unfortunately, Dan Petuwitz was the stud and I was the B.P. pitcher and, hence, no babes came my way.  (Editors note: In high school Joe had homeroom with at least a half dozen hotties for three straight years.  What did he do during all that time he was locked in the same room with some serious tail?  He played cards with the boys.  What a putz!)  Next came college, where I played for the College Of St. Thomas.  I finally attracted the babes (that's where I met my wife).  After college I started my amateur career with the inaugural J. Botten team.   Since that 1976 team I have played with the South Side Merchants, Columbia Heights, Haleks, Moose Lodge, Druks and the Minneapolis Merchants.  I have been in the 35 & over league since 1989, when the league's minimum age was 33.  I was recruited by Mike Rohm the first year when the Saints and the Lakers were born from the Minnetonka Millers.
Favorite Food:  Pizza, sometimes steak and, oh yes, I love the breast portion of the Thanksgiving turkey.
Favorite Movies:  The Sting - really, Star Wars trilogy, Rocky I, Bull Durham - Susan Sarandon was HOT!
Favorite TV Shows:  The Rockford Files, Star Trek - most of them, Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Favorite Books:  Anything by Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein or Robert Ludlum
Favorite Restaurants:  Green Mill - 1980, MacCafferty's - 1985
Favorite Music Groups:  Yes, Doobie Brothers, The Guess Who, The Who
Political Lean:  Toward the middle - Anything on the fringes pisses me off!
Religion:  Catholic - of course  (Editors note: Joe has about 67 children that he has raised in a 700 sq. foot house.  If you've seen the Monte Python movie Meaning Of Life, you know what I mean.  It's a good thing he has a good job or else he'd have to sell the lot of them for scientific experiments!)

Shaggy
If Joe-Joe were a cartoon character he would be Shaggy.
